1966 Schwinn Continental

I am selling a vintage violet colored 1966 Schwinn Continental road bike. Everything about the bike is original and totally complete. The bike is ready to ride and in working condition. I was surprised that the 40+ year old tubes appear to be air tight after inflated. This bike can easily be made into a fixie or a single speed for $50 or less. IMO, this bike would be ideal for a restoration project. There are a lot of websites dedicated to restoring older Schwinn road-bikes. There are areas of the bike that have superficial rust. Typically that can be removed with steel wool or oxalic acid. This is a pretty common procedure when restoring these bikes. Feel free to ask any questions concerning restoring or converting this bike. I've done it as a hobby on the side for a while.

SIZING: This bike was originally owned by someone who was 5'10' tall. The stand-over height of the top tube is 32.5 inches and I believe that this bike is around 56".

Here's a great link with info on these collectable bikes: http://www.schwinnbike.com/usa/eng/forums/

I am asking for $200 firm. Please email us if you are interested.

Thank you!
